LASIK / PRK / SMILE

Patients who are frustrated with the use of glasses or contact lenses may be a good candidate for LASIK (or PRK/SMILE) surgery. In this procedure, the glasses prescription is reduced by using a laser to flatten or steepen the curvature of the cornea. These changes are permanent and very accurate.

LASIK, PRK, and SMILE are different types of refractive surgeries with slightly different ways by which the vision is improved. All three procedures however ultimately alter the shape of the cornea to change the refractive state of the eye.

In short, LASIK/PRK/SMILE are good options for younger patients with milder refractive errors.
